Day 7 - Kan Ben (“observed celebration”)

The Monks and Board of Directors of Wat Dhammarangsey will be holding the Pchum Ben to pay respect to deceased relatives.  We would like to invite you, your family, and friends to attend this ceremony at our Temple.

This event will be held on Friday evening September 16, 2022 through Saturday September 17, 2022.  We would be honored by your presence at our Temple.

For more information, please contact us at Wat Dhammarangsey, (503)638-3700 / Venerable Michael Tang (503)957-9099 / Sokharo Chouy (503)442-9914.

The first 14 days are called Kan Ben (“observed celebration”). The 15th day is called Pchum Ben Day.

During Kan Ben, people give Buddhist Monks gifts of food and candles. At night Buddhist Monks recite a protective prayer. Pchum Ben Day is the biggest celebration.
