Kathina Celebration



The Sangha and Board of Directors of Wat Dhammarangsey would like to invite you, your family, and friends to attend Kathina Celebration Samaki at our Temple.  

The Kathina Celebration or Robe-Offering Ceremony was initiated by the Buddha to promote the care of Monks who observed the traditional three months rainy season retreat (Buddhist Lent). Samaki means “unity" or "solidarity” in Khmer.


PROGRAM

11/4/2023 - SATURDAY @ 6:00pm

  • Paying respect to the Triple Gem

  • Taking the Five Precepts

  • Chanting the Paritta

  • Dhamma Lecture (Tessana)

11/5/2023 - SUNDAY

9:30 am - Gathering of laypersons to pay homage to the Triple Gem and receive the Five Precepts.

11:00 am - Food offering to the Buddhist Monks

12:00 noon - Serving lunch for all

1:00 pm - Kathina Procession followed by Robe Offering and Blessing.
