Venerable Michael Tang (Senior Bhikhu)
Born in 1966 in Khmer Krom, Venerable Tang's spiritual journey began when he was ordained as a Samanera (novice monk) on January 10, 1986. Shortly after, on May 15, 1986, he attained the esteemed rank of Bhikkhu. Seeking further spiritual growth, he ventured to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on April 19, 1989, where he resided in several temples, including Watt Langka, Watt Vongkotborey, and Watt Uttaravatey.
Venerable Tang's journey to the United States was made possible by the sponsorship of the Oregon Cambodian Buddhist Society. Since January 15, 1997, he has been a cherished resident Monk at Wat Dhammarangsey, contributing significantly to the temple's monthly festival programs and serving as a dedicated member of the Oregon Cambodian Buddhist Society.
